HVAC Lead Intake Routing Worksheet: Service, Replacement and Maintenance
Route HVAC leads by urgent service, planned replacement and maintenance with a practical intake...
A clean energy partnership scenario review helps a Canadian vendor test how complementary firms hand work to one another. Partnerships can connect complementary clean energy services, but a plausible story is not a verified case study. The following three scenarios are explicitly hypothetical. They illustrate operating choices Canadian vendors can test; they do not report results from named companies.
Assume an HVAC contractor services a small commercial building. The owner asks whether a planned electrification project could include rooftop solar. The technician explains that solar requires a separate assessment and offers an introduction.
The owner chooses whether to share contact details. The HVAC firm sends only the agreed information, and the solar installer confirms receipt. Neither firm assumes that the roof is suitable or that the installation will offset a particular portion of the building’s bill.
The pilot should measure accepted introductions, assessments completed and reasons projects do not proceed. Any referral fee needs a defined trigger and appropriate disclosure. A count of introductions alone cannot establish profitability.
Assume an electrical distributor hosts a technical session with an installer about commercial solar interfaces. The distributor explains equipment documentation; the installer covers site assessment and project coordination.
Separate education from endorsement. Attendees should understand who is supplying information, whether the session is sponsored and how follow-up works. Ask participants which questions remain unanswered rather than using attendance as a substitute for project demand.
Evaluate the effort spent by both teams and whether subsequent opportunities fit their capabilities. Do not claim that a training event creates a particular contract value.
Assume a property professional gives a client an optional guide to planning a heat-pump assessment. The client can contact an installer directly or request an introduction. No equipment recommendation is made without the required property assessment.
Check professional and employer rules before offering compensation. The partner should not promise a rebate or imply that a retrofit guarantees a higher selling price.
Explain what customer information will be shared and why; limit partner access to what their role requires. The privacy commissioner’s meaningful-consent guidance is useful when designing this handoff. Privacy guidance.
Start with a limited pilot and an agreed review date. Continue a relationship when it produces suitable work and a clear customer experience, using documented outcomes rather than borrowed success statistics.
| Scenario | Primary handoff test | Outcome to inspect |
|---|---|---|
| HVAC firm to solar installer. | Can the owner choose an introduction and reach the correct assessment owner? | Accepted request, appropriate assessment and documented reason when unsuitable. |
| Distributor and contractor education. | Can attendees identify each party’s role and receive answers to relevant technical questions? | Promised material delivered and unresolved questions assigned; commercial enquiries counted separately. |
| Property professional and retrofit provider. | Can the client use the information or request contact without an equipment or resale promise? | Voluntary request, adviser restrictions checked and next assessment explained. |
These are proposed tests, not passed results or measured Canadian growth stories. A useful pilot may reveal that the arrangement creates confusion or takes more effort than expected.
Record the scenario, agreed purpose, actual events, staff effort, customer feedback and unresolved issues. Distinguish a count of introductions from suitable assessments, completed work and contribution after costs.
For a fictional negative result, an educational session produces useful questions but no immediate project requests. That may still meet its learning objective. It does not support a claim that the event generated contracts, nor does it prove the partnership failed at a purpose it never promised.
When actual evidence eventually supports a public account, obtain the relevant permissions and label the observed scope. Keep these hypothetical examples as operating ideas rather than converting them into invented success stories.
