The details matter

Why the same upgrade can have a different answer

A program being available in your province is only the beginning. Matching connects its requirements with the details of your property and project.

Where your property is

A province can contain several utility territories. Your address and electricity or gas provider help establish which program rules apply.

How the property is used

Ownership, occupancy, building type and existing heating can change eligibility. Homes, rentals and commercial buildings may follow different rules.

What you plan to install

Equipment models, project scope and contractor requirements matter. Registration, assessments or written approval may need to happen before you commit to work.

Bring the essentials

You don’t need every answer to start. Having these details ready will help you prepare before accepting an installation quote.

  • Recent electricity and gas bills with your utility details
  • Ownership, occupancy and existing heating information
  • Itemized quotes, equipment models and contractor details
  • Any required assessments, approvals and application references

For example, CleanBC’s Energy Savings Program has income verification and upgrade-specific requirements. This illustrates the checks to make; it does not establish that your property qualifies.

Before you take the next step

A few practical questions about matching and applying.

Property-specific program discovery, rebate matching, applicable combinations and personalized totals are premium features accessed through the Solenery advisor. Matching depends on the property and project information supplied and the current program terms.

No. Solenery does not award grants or reserve funding. The program administrator makes the final eligibility decision using its current rules and the information you submit.

Only when the relevant rules allow it. Eligible costs, combined funding caps, exclusions and application order can change the amount payable. Loans must be repaid and tax measures follow their own rules; not every offer is cash available on installation day.

Check the rules before committing to work. A required pre-installation assessment or approval generally cannot be replaced with receipts after installation. Retain dated rules, approval references, itemized invoices and proof of payment.
