About it

A grey foam sleeve that slips over your hot water pipes where they run through the basement. Hot water arrives at the tap faster and stops losing heat to the basement - a four-dollar fix that people notice in the shower.

Fitting it

It's pre-split - open it, wrap it round the pipe, press the self-seal edge shut. No tools.

Delivery

Very light foam but bulky; 6 ft length means it needs a long carton - bundle 6 or 12 lengths per shipment to make freight work · 0.15 kg

Approvals

Not electrical. Polyethylene foam; check local code if it runs near a flue.
